Fujian Zhangzhou: Promising Green Ceramic Industry

Nearly ¥2.35 Billion Invested


Pinghe Industrial Park, located in Zhangzhou City, FujianProvince, is a gathering point to combine the ceramic industries as well as upstreamand downstream industries, building a competitive industry chain.


South Second District is planned to build up a green ceramicindustrial park of its own characteristic, with a total planned area of 2.19 km², 11 km² out of which has been developed. 15 ceramic enterprises andsupporting enterprises have settled down, and that is the initial formation ofthe ceramic industry cluster which may create a production value over ¥5 billionand taxes over ¥110million. It will become a crucial new " growth pole " for the park oreven for industries in Zhangzhou.


Recently, CTW reporter learns that in thefirst half of this year, the green ceramic industry in PingheIndustrial Park createsan output value of ¥950 million (+90% year-on-year),and taxes more than ¥8 million (+100% year-on-year), both ofwhich have made the highest record.


Currently,nearly ¥2.35 billion has been totally invested inthe green ceramic industry, with 10 projects already put into operation whichcreate an annual output value of ¥1.5 billion and taxes more than ¥15million; 3 projects have been undertaking while 2 projects contracts have beensigned.


15 settled ceramic enterprises andsupporting enterprises buy advanced production line equipment fromGermany,which realizes fully automated production processes . The main products areantique floor tiles , wood floor tiles and exterior wall tiles and so on, whichare sold in domestic market as well as exported to theUnited Arab Emirates, the EU etc.


Another 3 ceramic companies in Pinghe Industrial Parkare undertaking green ceramic projects, and the drive of environmentalprotection is strong, which will lay a good foundation for stronger ceramicindustry and building “Porcelain Capital of Zhangzhou”.
