On January 23th, Zhaoqing Environmental Protection Bureau released the inspection result for the implementation of air pollution prevention and control. The result shows that, 22 ceramic companies in Dinghu district have stopped or limited production. And 31 ceramic companies of Gaoyao district and 7 ceramic companies of Sihui city have also halted or restricted production.

Actually, in order to combat air pollution, the Bureau has carried out frequent inspections since mid-January. From 20th to 21th January, te Bureau has sent 5 inspection teams to supervise and guide the industrial companies located in the southeast part of Zhaoqing to limit production, and strengthen the joint prevention and control over dust pollution.

It has been released that, in Dinghu district, 255 law enforcement officials have been sent to inspect the industrial companies. 9 ceramic companies have been requried to stop proudction and 13 ceramic companies have been required to limit production. Besides, 28 printing and casting companies have been required to stop or limit production.

As for Gaoyao district, 724 law enforcement officials have been sent to implement the inspection. 31 ceramic companies have been forced to stop or limit production. And 10 printing and 18 casting companies have been forced to sotp or limit production.

As for Sihui city, it has sent 248 law enforcemnt officials to execute a supervision over the industial companies. Many companies have been pushed to stop production, including 7 ceramic companies and 12 printing companies and 15 casting companeis and 16 plastic companies and 2 glass companies.

In recent years, Zhaoqing has continued to intensify the efforts to supervise the environmental ratification of ceramic companies. Earlier in 21th October 2017, the municipal government of Zhaoqing has issued a plan for the prevention and control of air pollution in the winter 2017 and the spring 2018. The plan articulates that from 21th October 2017 to 15th March 2018, the key industries, including ceramic, cement, glass, casting and printing industries, should reduce the production by 50%. If the weather is going to be bad, the key industries have to stop production completely.

Accoridng to the environmental quality ranking of Guangdong cities in 2017 announced in 13th January by the Department of Environmental Protection of Guangdong Province, the annual average limit of Zhaoqing hasn’t reached the Grade II national standard. It is likely that Zhaoqing will reinforce it efforts over environemntal protection.

It is worth noted that, as lunar Spring Festival is coming, not a few ceramic companies also started to halt their produciton spontaneously to make overhauls. It has been revealed that, 6 ceramic companies located in Guangning district have already stopped their kilns before 5th January. In addition, now, 80% ceramic companies in Dinghu district have also stopped their kilns. It is expected that they all will halt production by the end of this month.
