Back in 17th December 2017, the leading group office of prevention and control of air pollution in Linyi Luozhuang district issued a notice of the implementation of emission reduction measures in the construction of ceramic industry during the heating season. The notice required all the ceramic companies in the district commit the measures and halt production form 18th December to 31th December 2017. Half a month later, some ceramic companies have resumed their production in 1st January 2018. Currently, around 60% production lines have went into operation again.

On 18th December 2017, all the ceramic companies using coal as energy stopped production. It is worth noted that, based on the date that they once reported to the local government, they are allowed to set the date for resuming production from 1st January 2018 to 15th March 2018. But, they must ensure that the duration for production stoppage would not be less than 37 days.

Now, the ceramic companies which have already resumed production have only chosen a few lines to produce tiles. Their production lines have accounted nearly 60% of the total production lines in the district. At present, a half of the ceramic companies have resumed production. Some insiders said that, not all the ceramic companies were willing to restore their production. Some ceramic companies have decided that, before lunar Spring Festival, they would not get their machine running again.

It has been released that, previously, Luozhuang district has published the final list of the rates of ceramic companies. The rates would determine the destiny of the companies involved in the campaign. Those with low rates will be knocked out directly and get no chance to move into industrial parks. The list shows that, 18 out of 48 ceramic companies in Luozhuang district got the scores above 70. And 11 companies got a score lower than 60. But currently, the names of the companies which should be eliminated hasn’t been confirmed yet. But it is very likely that the ceramic companies with low scores get much possibility to be washed out. Currently, some of them have said that they were not willingly to restore production.
