Zhaoqing decided to strengthen the regulation of air-pollution of ceramics production. Therefore, Zhaoqing’s Environmental Protection Bureau started to make frequent inspections from 26th April to mid-August, which will last nearly 100 days. Environmental Protection Bureau organized the inspectors and monitors of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Dinghu, Sihui and high-tech zone of Zhaoqing to raid the ceramics plants in Duanzhou and Gaoyao.

In the night of 26th April, the personnel of the Ministry of Environmental Protection inspected more than 10 ceramics enterprises in several industrial parks, including Xinjiang Industrial Park of Sihui municipality and Jindu Industrial Park of Jindu Town and etc. Several ceramics enterprises were in trouble with environmental problems.

Zhaoqing’s Environmental Protection Bureau commanded those related enterprises to make rectification within 7 days. After that, the Bureau will inspect those unveiled problems occurred in those enterprises from time to time. If the Bureau finds out that the enterprises involved do not make the rectification, it will ask Zhaoqing Discipline Inspection and Supervision Department to make those related representatives accountable for their actions.

The main purpose of this strengthened inspection is to check the following aspects: the operation of environmental facilities and the discharge standard; the installation, networking and operation of the automatic monitoring facility of pollutant source; the investigation and shutdown of the small enterprises which production is scattered, messy and pollutant; to check whether the enterprises have stop or restrict the production according to the requirements of related authorities.
